Hair Products & Information from Cosmoprof Las Vegas
As you can see we got a lot of great samples from walking the show floor and attending the North American Hairstylist Awards. We discovered a lot of new things and were reminded of some old ones.
Our favorite thing was The O from Cloud Nine. It is a special velcro roller that heats up in 4 seconds, and is super amazing. The people from the company are great and we had so much fun with them! They gave Matthew a set to use tomorrow in the hair room at Days of Our Lives!
We noticed the following three main topics at the show:
1. Brazilians. There were tons of Brazilians there. Not just smoothing treatments but all sorts of products. It was great to see and hear the language. I was an exchange student in Sao Paulo so it is always fun to hear Portuguese.
2. Keratin. It is in everything now..... Color, Shampoo, Conditioners and yes of course, Keratin Treatments to de-frizz or make the hair smooth. There were so many companies doing this. The two that stood out for us were Inoar & Keratherapy. Inoar seems to really know what they are doing and Keratherapy tells it like it is. They say what products have formaldehyde and which don't. They have Color Lock and Seal Keratin Treatment Spray, an express blow dry spray treatment that we are excited to try and maybe this will be an option we will use at our salon!
3. Argan/Argon/Argen oil. Saw it all in all kinds of spellings. It is the 'it' product right now and everyone has their version of it. Some improvements on what is out there with smell or clear formulations but it is sort of a must have for all brands now.
An interesting company we saw there was Zenagen. Their philosophy is the fusion of Beauty & Science. They have two very interesting product lines based on neutraceuticals. One is for helping with hair loss and one is for helping with growing the hair longer and quicker. We met the founder and talking with him a bit and met their spokesperson stylist, Uli Reyes. Keep your eye on them!

LOCKS OF LOVE DONATION
Our friend Diane Clemenhagen asked us to help her with her donation for Locks of Love. She owns Phunky Girl Entertainment and works at our favorite restaurant BLT Steak so of course we suggested to meet up there to evaluate her hair to see if she would be a good candidate. She had no bleach highlights - just healthy color treated hair. We determined we would try to get 10 inches of length minimum.
The first step is to section the hair so you can get the most length from all the hair. You can see Diane is super excited and ready for her transformation!
Here it is!!! This should be very helpful in creating some great wigs for some children in need. (Looks a lot more than 10 inches!)
At the end of her visit she is sporting her new hairstyle by Matthew Holman! She was super happy and ready to share her story. Great job Matthew!!!
If you would like to donate your own hair please visit the Locks of Love site to learn more!
